Taivalkoski is located on the North-East Finland highlands, at the heart of four national parks: Syöte, Oulanka, Hossa, and Riisitunturi. Taivalkoski is where you want to go. It’s so close you can get there easily: no matter how you travel.

Taivalkoski is particularly popular among those who drive, and it’s easy to get here via road no. 20 from Oulu or Kuusamo. If you’re coming up from the south, along highway no. 5 (E63), the scenic lake drive no. 8400 will lead you straight to Taivalkoski. There is also a scenic drive further north, which takes you to Posio.
