Taivalkoski’s well-maintained snowmobile routes offer rewarding experiences and breathtaking landscapes. The routes will take you to e.g. Syöte, Hossa, Ruka…

For foreign guests we suggest to participate at a guided tour. You must be in possession of a car driving licence and the age limit is 18 years. Several holiday providers offer guided snowmobile tours. The duration is between 3 hours up to 1 week.

A trail permit is required for riding on snowmobile routes

• If you participate in an organized snowmobile safari, no separate permit is required.

• In Taivalkoski, permits are sold at the Kylmäluoma Visitor Center.
• Trail permits can also be purchased from ‘Metsähallitus’ online store.

Support the trails – voluntary snowmobile route fee

The voluntary snowmobile route fee helps fund additional grooming of local trails in the Taivalkoski area.
One fee covers the grooming of approximately two kilometres of trail.
